"Joseph was born to Harriet (Andrus) & Jacob Tuck. At the age of 9 he was "bound" to Sam Boulton, but at 18 he jumped bond and became a carpenter apprentice. After marriage he became a wagon maker near Powassin, in about 1899 moved west to Strathcona NWT (now Edmonton Alberta) and farmed near New Serepta, Clearwater and finally Lavoy. Joseph had a beautiful bass voice, and loved to sing hymns, thanks to his wonderful mother Harriet, who encouraged him to sing as a child. Evan as a man in his 80's he was an exceptional skater, with those long strong strides."
"Rosanna was born in Nepean Twp, Ontario to Sarah (Irwin)and Abraham McAmmond. Abraham was a descendant of John McAmmond who came from Ireland and settled in Nepean about 1832. She was a very small woman, but she ruled her home and raised a large family, mostly males."
