DORIS EILEEN FERGUSON (nee WILLIAMS) With great sadness, we announce that Doris passed away peacefully on the morning of August 16, 2001 at the age of 85. Doris was predeceased by her husband Bill in 1991; her brothers Bill and Jack: her sister Marjorie and her parents. ... Doris was born in Portage la Prairie, on February 24, 1916 and moved to Winnipeg at a young age. She grew up on Kitson Street in Norwood. After marrying Bill and starting their family in Regina, the couple returned to Winnipeg and became long-time residents of St. Vital, residing on Bronstone Boulevard for over 30 years. Doris was a wife and mother first and foremost, and her life focus was the care of her family. She was a loving mother and a doting grandmother. Her special smile will be treasured by all who knew her. During the last few years of her life, Doris struggled with Alzheimers disease. The family would like to thank the staff at the Golden West Centennial Lodge for the special care that was given to Doris during her time there. Cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be held on Monday, August 20, 1:00 p.m. at Thomson Funeral Chapels, 669 Broadway. Interment will be in St. Vital Cemetery, followed by a gathering of family and friends. In lieu of flowers, the family wishes a donation to be made in Doriss memory to the Winnipeg Humane Society, or to the charity of your choice. THOMSON FUNERAL CHAPELS 783-7211

BARRY DOUGLAS PHILLIPS July 18, 1949 - August 31, 2012 It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved husband, father and brother Barry Phillips on August 31, 2012. Barry was predeceased by his father Doug, his mother Eileen and his sister Lori. Barry will be missed by his family and friends. ... Barry was born in Winnipeg and attended school at Glenwood, Glenlawn Collegiate, Red River Community College and later the University of Manitoba. His varied working career included working as a RIA at Thorn Gun Ridell accounting firm, Phillips Acoustics (his father's firm), Consortium Contractors (his own firm), and later at the Addictions Foundation of Manitoba. Barry was kept busy working, raising his family and renovating his home on Wolseley Avenue and cottage in Grand Marais. Barry enjoyed many things in life including cooking, walking his much loved dog Wolseley, bike riding, boating, reading, watching movies, trips to the states and Tim Horton's coffee. Among his many passions, he loved most spending time at the cottage in Grand Marais with family and friends. The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank-you to the staff at the Convalescent Home of Winnipeg. They provided Barry with wonderful care over the years and were unbelievably kind, caring and supportive to our family over the last several weeks. A memorial service will take place, Friday, September 7, 2012 at 2:00 p.m., at Thomson In The Park Funeral Home, 1291 McGillivary Blvd. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Parkinson Society of Manitoba.
